Objective: Our customer operates a small chain of high street retail shops. Our customer wanted to find the quickest and most cost effective way to notify their existing regular customers to their end of season sales. Traditionally this has been achieved through mail-outs, which is not only costly to produce but also takes a number of weeks of careful planning. By the nature of fashion and our client’s brand, most of our client’s customers as an average are aged between 16 to mid twenties, and it was felt that text messaging was clearly established as the preferred method of communication within their target audience.

Redstar solution: We provided our customer with a web based contact management interface in to which we imported a list of the existing regular customers. Changes to a contact or new customer details are simply added by logging in to the database through a secure portal. Now our customer can hold snap sales or promotions within minutes by notifying their customers by text message.

Benefits to the business:Our client now has greater interaction with their customer’s and plans an ongoing series of promotions and special offers and events to entice people in to their stores. A key benefit to the business is that our customer has far greater control over how they react to trading performance by removing the lead time previously required before a promotion could be established.
